    About Dr. Judith S. Beck

    Dr. Beck imparts her knowledge to the dieters she works with at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research, the internationally renowned psychotherapy center her father founded. In addition to running a diet group, she directs the three major functions of the Beck Institute: education, clinical care, and research. She divides her time between administration, supervision and teaching, clinical work, program development, research, and writing. As a consultant for several National Institute of Mental Health research studies she presents workshops nationally and internationally on using Cognitive Therapy for a wide variety of psychiatric disorders and psychological and behavioral problems, including weight loss. She is also the author of 'Cognitive Therapy: Basics and Beyond' and 'Cognitive Therapy for Challenging Problems: What to Do When the Basics Don't Work.'
