About Kathy Peel
Kathy Peel: Kathy Peel (a.k.a. America's Family Manager) is the author of of 20 books about home and family management. Her Family Manager system helps busy parents deal with clutter, juggle schedules, organize family members into workable teams, and find time for self-care and development. As Kathy Peel has advanced the mission of Family Manager -- to build strong families and happy, organized homes -- she has gained a following from across the country.
Claim to Fame:
"Pressure on American families is growing as life becomes more complex and time more precious," says Kathy. "The growing need to bring order to the family is important not only for the sake of society but also for the sanity of the individuals, especially the Moms, who traditionally bear responsibility for managing the home."
With missionary-like zeal, Kathy has been spreading the Family Manager message as an AOL Kids & Family Coach, as well as through her books, articles, and speaking engagements which have positively impacted millions of families. She has been a guest on hundreds of TV programs, including repeat appearances on Oprah, The Early Show, The Today Show, CNN and HGTV. Her articles and ideas have appeared in many magazines including Family Circle, Home Life, Reader's Digest, Ladies' Home Journal, Child, Parents and Redbook.
Prize Points:
In the fall of 2006 Kathy turned her one-woman crusade into a national juggernaut by launching a Family Manager University, a robust online campus where trainees learn to help families create happy, organized homes and gain certification to offer the exclusive Family Manager Makeover service.
"Thousands of women have asked me for more help in managing their families during my 18 years as a Family Manager consultant." said Kathy. "Creating Family Manager University is in response to these fervent requests for more family resources and solutions than I could personally deliver."
Family Manager Makeovers begin with an online assessment based on the seven Family Manager departments: Home & Property, Time & Scheduling, Food, Special Events, Family and Friends, Finances, and Self Management. Next, a certified Family Manager Coach performs an in-home assessment and works with the family to create an individualized Makeover Action Plan which identifies areas of greatest need and recommends stress-relieving strategies and realistic solutions for creating a smoothly running home and balanced lifestyle.
Certified Family Manager Coaches help turn chaos into order by giving women a new way of looking at their jobs, as well as a tool kit for managing their families and homes.
Kathy says, "No two families are alike, so each Makeover Action Plan is built upon the family's strengths and personal priorities while tailored to meet their greatest needs."
Personal File: Kathy graduated with a B.A. from Southern Methodist University. She and her husband Bill (also an author) have three grown sons, two Border Collies, and live in Dallas, Texas.
