For those 'Sex and the City' fans who were left behind when Carrie finally rode off into the sunset with Mr. Big, there's 'Turn Your Cablight On.' While the book doesn't offer new tales on Big Apple romance, it does give tips on how to give your romantic life big city sizzle. Author Nancy Slotnick is the creator of Cablight.com, a site that teaches "Lovelife Management" -- how to organize your personal life as a serious profession.

No, that doesn't mean hanging with a mack who expects to get paid at the end of the evening, but letting the prospective bachelors know that you mean business (or in New York-ese, "turning you cablight on"). Smiling with your eyes, having the right opening line and properly screening online suitors are all part of the "Cablight" program. Slotnick advises readers to be proactive, supporting her reasoning with guidelines like the 1-in-10 rule -- only one out of every 10 "Wanna date?" e-mails will actually come to fruition. What it comes down to is pushing for "Goal Achieving" behavior over "Tension Relieving" habits -- getting out of your comfort zone and getting your groove on to find your own Mr. Big.

Best for: Citywise thirtysomethings who are so focused on finding love that they won't mind Slotnick's gimmicks.
