About Stephen Covey
The international leadership authority, family expert and organizational consultant, Dr. Stephen R. Covey is probably best known as the author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which has sold more than 15 million copies in 38 languages. His work as an author and vice chairman of the global services firm FranklinCovey focuses on teaching principle-centered living and leadership to individuals, families and organizations.
Covey’s other best-selling books include First Things First, Principle-Centered Leadership and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families. The recipient of nine honorary doctorate degrees, Dr. Covey has been lauded by Time Magazine as one of the 25 most influential Americans. In 2002, Forbes named The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People one of the top ten most influential management books ever. A survey by Chief Executive Magazine recognized The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as one of the two most influential business books of the 20th century.
Dr. Covey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, his MBA from Harvard and his doctorate from Brigham Young University. He served as assistant to the president of Brigham Young and was also a professor of business management and organizational behavior at the university.
The father of nine and grandfather of 44, Covey received the National Fatherhood Award in 2003. He lives in Utah.
